The goal of tutoring at Wenatchee Valley College is to provide supplemental instructional support. Tutoring services on the Wenatchee campus and on the Omak campus meet that goal by providing a dynamic, collaborative learning opportunity that enhances the educational experience at WVC.
Tutoring services are available free of charge to all WVC students currently enrolled in classes for which tutoring is requested, regardless of the number of credits.
Located upstairs in the John A. Brown Library
Fall hours of operation:
Monday - Thursday- 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Friday- 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Although we strive for consistent dates and times each quarter, change happens. Please check the schedule posted at the tutor center, in the library and as an announcement through Canvas for specific tutoring times and subjects:
- The tutor center opens the second week of classes (not the first week)
- Please use the schedule posted to find best times for specific course help
- Tutoring ends the last day of regular classes (not open during finals)
Tutoring for MATH 090 through MATH 140 and for CHEM 121 is available most hours the tutor center is open. Tutoring for the following subjects varies depending on the skills of tutors working. Again, please check the schedule posted outside the tutor center for specific tutoring times and subjects.
Accounting (When an accounting tutor is available)
Anatomy and Physiology
Mathematics- Math 107, Stats, etc.
In addition to the tutors, the tutor center also has an excellent collection of solutions manuals, space for group work and four computer stations. The computers are for students working in math classes that include online content such as MyMathLab.
The tutor center maintains a relaxed environment--please come in and have a seat, no appointment necessary. If you work better in a quiet setting, please ask about the Quiet Study Area. The tutors on duty will be wearing purple lanyards and will be happy to answer your questions. If we are busy, please make contact with a tutor, so they know you need help. Also, please come prepared with your book, notes and specific questions you need help with. We're here to help you learn, but can't re-teach the materials.
Because the number of students requesting tutoring often exceeds the number of tutors, tutors are not able to devote extended periods of time to just one student. To make the most of the service, please come prepared to work independently after your questions has been fully answered.
All currently enrolled WVC students are eligible to use the FREE online tutoring service offered by a group of colleges in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Live online tutoring is available for:
